All things being equal the 305 probably makes power a bit lower due to it's longer stroke. I know that people do put 400 cranks in them, with the mains cut down.

WebMay 5, 2003 · You cant bore out a 305 to match a 350's bore. The water jackets are routed a little different. A stock 350 is at 4.00 bore and I belive, not sure, the 305 is at 3.75 bore. A 350 can be made into a 383 using a 400 crank and a couple other odd and ends. If you had a special piston you might be able to stuff the 350 crank in it and have some type of stroker, but I don't know anybody that has done it.
